Who we are
Hanse Strafrecht is a pure criminal defence boutique in Hamburg Rothenburgsort. Rechtsanwältin Virginia von Burgsdorff founded the firm on being admitted to the bar in Hamburg. Since June 2022, Rechtsanwältin Charlotte Elger-Günther has worked there in an office-sharing arrangement (Bürogemeinschaft) with her own separate practice.
We conduct the defence at every stage of proceedings: during the investigation stage, the intermediate proceedings, the trial itself, and on appeal and appeal on points of law. In a criminal emergency, you can reach us on the emergency numbers.
The office is based in Hamburg. We also appear before courts in other German states.
The defence is conducted in German, English and French.

We appear before the criminal courts in Hamburg and also conduct proceedings outside Hamburg.

What we stand for

No statement without inspection of the file. Only after access to the case file has been granted will a decision be made as to whether to make a statement on the substance of the matter.
