Working with fellow lawyers
You represent a client whose case raises questions of criminal law that you would rather not take on yourself? Or you need an assessment under criminal law for an ongoing mandate? We work with fellow lawyers on a regular basis, in three forms.
Referral
If you refer a client to us, we accept the resulting mandate only after express agreement with you. If the client so wishes, we keep you informed of the further course of the matter. In that case we agree the fee directly with the client.
Joint conduct of a mandate
Where we handle a mandate jointly, we agree the framework of the defence with you in advance. Meetings take place at your offices if you prefer. At your request we do not appear externally and work in the background. For such cooperation we agree an hourly or a flat fee.
Opinions and written submissions
You can instruct us to prepare an opinion on a question of criminal law or to draft individual written submissions. Scope, deadline and fee are recorded in writing in advance.
